Strengthening Ties: India and Sri Lankas Growing Cooperation

New Delhi, February 6: Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi provided significant insights on the increasing collaboration and mutual relations between India and Sri Lanka. He announced that under the leadership of Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, a meaningful and constructive dialogue was held in Colombo with Honorable Vijitha Herath, Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism.

During this meeting, gratitude was expressed for the widespread public support and deep reverence shown by the Sri Lankan people towards the sacred Devanimori relic exhibition of Lord Buddha. The discussions also focused on strengthening people-to-people connections between India and Sri Lanka and enhancing cooperation in the tourism sector. Both parties acknowledged that tourism would not only boost economic collaboration but also strengthen cultural exchange.

Deputy CM Harsh Sanghvi claimed that the positive response to this exhibition in Sri Lanka reflects the cultural and spiritual ties between the two nations.

In a post on the social media platform X, Harsh Sanghvi shared several pictures and wrote, “A meaningful and constructive conversation took place in Colombo with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, under the leadership of Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat.”

He further noted, “Gratitude was expressed for the tremendous public response and deep reverence towards the sacred Devanimori relic exhibition. The dialogue also focused on strengthening people-to-people connections and enhancing cooperation in the tourism sector. This conversation reflects the spirit of PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Neighborhood First’ policy and the enduring civilizational ties between the two countries.”
