Katihar, February 8: A shocking incident has emerged from the Manihari police station area in Katihar district, Bihar, where the body of a young man was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in his girlfriend’s home. The victim, identified as Vinayak Pandit from Sujapur in the Barari police station area, was reportedly in a romantic relationship with a married woman residing in Kumari Pur.
On Sunday, police received a report about the body found in a room of the woman’s house. Vinayak had arrived at her home on Saturday night disguised as a delivery boy. His body was found the following morning.
Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Manihari police station chief Pankaj Anand stated that a thorough inquiry has commenced. Given the seriousness of the situation, a forensic science laboratory (FSL) team has been called in. Authorities are currently treating the case as a potential homicide or suicide linked to an illicit relationship. The body has been sent for autopsy.
Police indicated that the exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy report is received. Reports suggest that Vinayak and the woman had been in a relationship for two years. At the time of his arrival, no male family members were present in the house. A police official confirmed that the alleged girlfriend and her sister-in-law are currently in custody for questioning.
