New Delhi, February 5: A recent incident in the Parliament complex has garnered significant attention. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor stumbled while talking on his phone on the stairs, and he was promptly assisted by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing Tharoor losing his balance as he stepped on the stairs. Yadav, who was standing nearby, quickly helped Tharoor regain his footing.
Following the incident, the two engaged in a brief conversation. Yadav was seen holding Tharoor’s hand as they descended a few steps together. This event raised concerns about Tharoor’s health, prompting many to express their worries. Tharoor later shared the video on social media, stating, “The lamp that must burn in the storm must tread carefully. I am fine.” His comment has sparked various political interpretations.
Another incident in Parliament also drew attention. On Wednesday, a heated exchange occurred between Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu. Gandhi reassured Bittu, saying, “Don’t worry, you will return.” During this interaction, Gandhi referred to Bittu as a traitor. Although Gandhi extended his hand for a handshake, Bittu walked away without responding. The BJP has since criticized Gandhi for this exchange.
In response to Gandhi’s remarks, seven BJP MPs in Delhi condemned his statement, claiming it directly attacked the dignity of the Sikh community.
