New Delhi, February 4: Central Minister Ravi Singh Bittu has made serious allegations against Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi following a heated debate in Parliament. He claimed that Gandhi attempted to physically assault him.
In an interview with a news agency, Bittu stated, “Even a street thug wouldn’t behave as Rahul Gandhi did today. When I refused to shake hands, he seemed ready to attack me. K.C. Venugopal and other Congress leaders had to intervene. If they hadn’t, who knows what might have happened.”
Bittu further remarked, “If Rahul Gandhi had come to attack me, my hands were not tied.”
He explained that after the debate, he went inside, questioning how Gandhi could use such inappropriate language and threaten to approach him again.
“Rahul Gandhi is under a misconception. The BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have honored me and seated me in front of Congress leaders. This seems to cause him pain. Seeing me daily brings him discomfort, which was evident in his words and actions today,” Bittu added.
Meanwhile, the Minister accused Congress of orchestrating violence against Sikhs. He said, “These are the people whose supporters killed thousands of Sikhs by putting tires around their necks and setting them on fire. They also vandalized Gurudwaras and shot at the Guru Granth Sahib in Darbar Sahib. Therefore, they have always been enemies of Sikhs.”
Bittu continued, “Their party (Congress) has always harbored resentment because my father was a martyr, and so was their grandfather. Whenever I received praise, it seemed to hurt them. The Congress party has historically caused harm to Sikhs in Punjab. When P.V. Narasimha Rao became Prime Minister and the Gandhi era ended, my grandfather (Sardar Beant Singh) became Chief Minister. If the Gandhi family had been in power, he wouldn’t have been able to become CM. He brought peace to Punjab and ended the violence against Sikhs and Hindus. This discomfort remains in the Congress party.”
