Mumbai, February 4: Actress Chahat Pandey, known for her work in television and reality shows, has made her debut in the OTT space. She stars in the new web series ‘Hasratein Season 3,’ released on Hungama OTT, where she takes on a challenging role. Her character reflects the complex emotions, desires, and struggles of women in various aspects of life.
In the latest episode titled ‘Naya Kirayadar,’ Chahat portrays Smita, a housewife who feels isolated and emotionally vulnerable after her husband suddenly goes missing. She is forced to live with her domineering mother-in-law, which adds to her life’s pressures.
Societal scrutiny, workplace harassment, and the burden of unfulfilled desires have stalled her life. However, the narrative takes a turn when a young musician named Samarth becomes her new tenant. Their growing friendship rekindles Smita’s suppressed emotions.
As Smita grows closer to Samarth, her husband unexpectedly returns. She now faces a crucial decision: adhere to societal norms and family responsibilities or choose her happiness and personal freedom.
This story compels viewers to reflect on the notion that sometimes choosing one’s happiness is not a crime but a means of survival.
Chahat Pandey expressed her thoughts on the role, stating, “Smita is the most challenging character of my career. She is a woman taught from childhood never to express her pain and unfulfilled desires. After her husband’s disappearance, society tightens its grip on her. Through this character, I aim to show how a woman’s life can change when she finally hears her own voice.”
She further added, “Smita’s journey is about reclaiming her rights and acknowledging that choosing happiness is not a crime. This character sensitively presents the emotions, struggles, and freedom of women.”
Chahat Pandey’s role in ‘Hasratein Season 3’ marks a significant step in establishing her identity in the OTT world. Viewers will not only connect with her emotions but also appreciate the importance of women’s freedom and personal rights through her story.
