
Khadoor Sahib, February 8: Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria paid a visit to the historic Gurudwara Shri Darbar Sahib (Angitha Sahib Shri Guru Angad Dev Ji) in Khadoor Sahib on Sunday. During his visit, the Governor was honored by the Gurudwara management committee with a special presentation.
The Governor praised the sanctity, service tradition, and spiritual atmosphere of the Gurudwara, calling it a significant center of Sikh history and heritage.
Following this, Governor Kataria toured the Nishan-e-Sikhi institution in Khadoor Sahib, where he was welcomed by Baba Seva Singh, who leads the community service efforts. The Governor engaged in discussions with students preparing for UPSC, JEE, and other competitive exams.
He commended the students for their hard work, discipline, and dedication to their goals, stating that the youth are the future of the country and that they need proper guidance.
Governor Kataria encouraged the students, saying, “The more you study, the further you will go. Your success will contribute to the nation’s development, so focus on your studies.”
He also openly praised the efforts of the Nishan-e-Sikhi institution, noting that such organizations not only promote education but also play a crucial role in keeping youth away from social evils like substance abuse, fostering a positive and empowered society.
The Governor appealed to religious, social, and educational institutions to collaborate for the bright future of the youth, sending a strong message to society.
During the visit, he planted a mango sapling on the institution’s premises, emphasizing the importance of Environmental Conservation and increasing greenery. He stated, “Protecting nature is a collective responsibility for all of us.”
On social media platform ‘X’, Governor Kataria wrote, “I had meaningful conversations with esteemed members of the Jain community and local villagers after visiting the Jain temple in Vairoval, Tarn Taran. Such spiritual institutions promote peace, non-violence, and brotherhood, while also strengthening social harmony.”
