Dalai Lamas Office Denies Links to Epstein in Recent Reports

Dharamshala, February 8: The Epstein files have revealed the names of several globally renowned individuals, causing widespread shock. In response, the office of the Dalai Lama issued a statement on Sunday, categorically rejecting media reports suggesting any connection between the Tibetan spiritual leader and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Multiple media outlets cited documents from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), claiming that the Dalai Lama’s name appeared 169 times in the widely discussed Epstein Files. However, the office of the Tibetan leader firmly dismissed these allegations.

Reports indicated that the Buddhist leader’s name was allegedly mentioned in various personal emails and in the index of a book titled “Massage for Dummies,” which was included as part of the scanned documents released in connection with the Epstein case.

Following the emergence of these claims, the Dalai Lama’s office released a statement clearly refuting any alleged links, stating, “Recent media reports and social media posts attempting to connect the Dalai Lama with Jeffrey Epstein are unfounded.”

The statement further emphasized, “We can confirm that the Dalai Lama has never met Jeffrey Epstein, nor has he authorized anyone to meet or communicate with him.”

Some reports referenced an email from October 2012 that allegedly mentioned a meeting between the Tibetan spiritual leader and Epstein, suggesting that the Dalai Lama was expected to participate in an event with him. Additionally, the European media outlet Nexta TV claimed that individuals identified as followers of the Dalai Lama may have met Epstein, intensifying speculation about indirect links.

This issue resurfaced last year when journalist Michael Wolff made claims during his appearance on The Daily Beast podcast. Wolff discussed meetings referred to as “salons,” reportedly held at Epstein’s residence, which included several prominent figures.

While naming attendees, Wolff included the Dalai Lama and speculated that if the spiritual leader was present, it might have been related to fundraising or charitable activities, as many individuals were known to have approached Epstein for financial support.

Independent journalist Jacob Silverman later referenced Wolff’s claims in an article titled “Why Was the Dalai Lama at Jeffrey Epstein’s House?” In his report, Silverman noted that the Dalai Lama’s office did not respond to inquiries about whether the organization received any donations from Epstein or had any connection with him.

This controversy gained renewed attention when the U.S. Department of Justice recently released a substantial collection of records related to Epstein. This collection includes over three million files related to funding activities, more than 2,000 videos, and approximately 180,000 photographs.

Reports indicate that the newly released documents mention several influential individuals from various sectors, including leaders, business figures, and globally recognized personalities. Various reports also include the names of current and former U.S. presidents, such as Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, as well as business leaders like Bill Gates and Elon Musk.
