AAP Blames Government for Tragic Death of Biker in Delhi

New Delhi, February 6: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has rejected the notion that the tragic death of a biker in Janakpuri, Delhi, was merely an accident. The party has directly blamed the government and administration, labeling the incident as ‘murder.’

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated that such fatalities in the capital are a result of the government’s gross negligence. He referenced a recent incident in Noida where a software engineer died after falling into a drain, emphasizing that the government has failed to learn from past mistakes.

Kejriwal accused the BJP-ruled states of adopting a reckless attitude, which ultimately costs the lives of ordinary citizens. He expressed condolences to the victim’s family, wishing them strength to endure their loss.

Saurabh Bhardwaj, AAP’s Delhi state president, described the situation as extremely serious. He reported that the biker fell into a pit dug by the Delhi Jal Board on a PWD road in Janakpuri, where he lay for hours before succumbing to his injuries. The deceased, identified as 25-year-old Kamal, worked at an HDFC call center in Rohini.

Bhardwaj alleged that the pit had existed for some time and that the local Residents’ Welfare Association had repeatedly requested barricading, but the administration took no action.

He criticized the Delhi government minister, stating that the incident occurred in their constituency. Despite this, the minister reportedly began exonerating the department before even visiting the site. Bhardwaj claimed that eyewitnesses indicated barricading was only installed the morning after the accident, contradicting the minister’s assertion that safety measures were already in place.

Bhardwaj raised concerns about the police’s actions, questioning why a missing report was not filed despite the victim’s family searching for him throughout the night across six police stations. He accused the police of initially providing the family with the victim’s location, only to delete it shortly after. He questioned what the police might be trying to hide.

He demanded that all CCTV footage from the Janakpuri area be made public to uncover the truth. The AAP has called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah to conduct a fair investigation into the incident and take strict action against those responsible. The party insists that such tragedies will continue until accountability is established.
