Kushinagar, February 7: Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that the central budget presented by the government serves as a robust and visionary foundation for realizing the goal of a developed India. He criticized the opposition for being plagued by an anti-development mentality, unable to digest the progress of the state and the nation.
Addressing a press conference at the Kushinagar police lines, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, this budget is fully capable of fulfilling the commitment to a developed India.
He noted that the budget has been prepared with consideration for every segment of society, aiming to empower the poor, uplift women, create new job opportunities for youth, and enhance the prosperity of farmers. This budget embodies the spirit of Antyodaya, focusing on the upliftment of the last person in the line.
Maurya highlighted the clear policy to encourage investment, which is expected to attract rapid capital investment into the country, establishing India firmly as a global manufacturing hub. He referred to this as the ninth consecutive budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, calling it historic and expressing complete trust in Prime Minister Modi‘s leadership.
Regarding the UGC bill, he mentioned that the Supreme Court has issued a stay order on the matter, which everyone should respect. Following this, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya laid the foundation stone for various road projects worth millions under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Kushinagar district.
The Deputy CM detailed that these projects include roads connecting NH-28 from Joura to Sonbarsa, NH-28 from Jokwa to Chhah, Patherwa Basdila Mahant to Darjiya, Choura to Badurawu, and Ahirauli Dan Laknaha Ghat to Bank Khas Gandhi Pradhan Dor, as well as Dhuriya Imiliya to Sapahi Tadwa via Pagra Padri. The construction of these roads will ensure direct connectivity for dozens of villages to the national highways.
He reiterated, “Connecting every village with a strong and durable road” is Prime Minister Modi‘s commitment, which the Uttar Pradesh government is fulfilling with complete dedication. He instructed officials that any negligence in the quality of construction work will not be tolerated. Maurya stated that better roads are the backbone of the rural economy, directly benefiting farmers, students, laborers, and traders.
