
Noida, February 8: A tragic incident occurred in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of two workers. The victims were engaged in construction work at a building site when the shoring suddenly collapsed. In response to the incident, police have detained the supervisor and contractor involved. Central Noida’s DCP, Shakti Awasthi, confirmed the details of the event.
According to reports, the shoring at the construction site gave way unexpectedly, trapping three workers beneath it. Panic ensued at the scene, prompting immediate notification to the police and the transportation of the injured to a nearby hospital.
DCP Shakti Awasthi stated that the incident took place in Sector 142 of Noida. The workers were installing shoring when the structure collapsed, leading to serious injuries for three individuals. Unfortunately, doctors later pronounced two of them dead at the hospital.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been released. Police officials clarified that no building collapsed in the area and emphasized the need to maintain public order.
DCP Awasthi further mentioned that swift action was taken, resulting in the detention of the supervisor and contractor on charges of negligence. He added that police teams are currently engaged in further investigations, and the bodies will be handed over to their families after identification.
