Shiv Sena MP Criticizes Governments Economic Policies and Womens Safety

New Delhi, February 6: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi launched a strong critique of the central government during a recent conversation. She stated that the public has re-elected PM Modi for a third term, and there are expectations for balanced progress and development in the country during this period.

Chaturvedi pointed out that while the Prime Minister frequently claims that India is set to become the world’s third-largest economy, the average citizen is not reaping any benefits. Unemployment is at an all-time high, and the situation for farmers is alarming.

She highlighted a recent decision to impose a 0% tariff on American agricultural products, while Indian products face an 18% tariff when exported to the U.S. Such unequal trade decisions, she argued, are detrimental to farmers’ interests. Additionally, she referenced the increasing comparisons with neighboring Bangladesh and the resulting diplomatic tensions.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) MP remarked that while history speaks for itself, there are attempts to distort it today. She accused the government of downplaying the achievements of former Prime Ministers and making false claims. The public expects the Prime Minister to remain honest and accountable, rather than manipulating historical narratives.

Chaturvedi also questioned comments made in Parliament regarding women’s protests and safety. She described a recent statement from the Speaker as shameful, which blamed women for compromising the Prime Minister’s security. It is unfortunate, she noted, that women are being scapegoated. Parliament is supposed to be the safest place in the country, with adequate security for all MPs.

She asserted that suggesting women’s protests endanger the Prime Minister’s safety is entirely incorrect. If 33% of MPs are women by 2029, as promised, will the Prime Minister avoid Parliament if they protest? Blaming women not only distracts from real issues but also undermines the spirit of democracy. Protests and raising voices are democratic rights, and she condemned efforts to diminish these rights and blame women. Maintaining the dignity of Parliament and democratic institutions is the government’s responsibility.

Chaturvedi expressed concern over the situation in Manipur, citing serious issues arising from political maneuvering for power. Despite President’s Rule being in effect, the government has attempted to cling to power through manipulation, which she deemed against democratic processes and the rights of the people.

She also raised questions about the central government’s Economic Policies, trade inequalities, and unemployment. While grand claims of development are made, the benefits are not reaching the common people. The plight of farmers and laborers is severe, and immediate attention is needed. Without addressing issues like women’s safety, farmers’ rights, and unemployment, balanced development in the country is unattainable. The public seeks real change and needs to feel that the government is working for their welfare.
