Patna, February 8: Prashant Kishor, the architect of the Jan Suraj Party, is set to embark on a new journey in Bihar as the state gears up for elections. This comes after the ruling party, JD(U), remarked that Kishor could never match the stature of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan stated, “Nitish Kumar has drawn such a long line in Bihar that becoming an alternative to him is beyond leaders like Prashant Kishor.”
In an interview with a news agency, Ranjan acknowledged that while Kishor has time on his side, he previously created a significant uproar during elections but ended up with zero seats. He suggested that Kishor is attempting the same strategy again.
Responding to Tejashwi Yadav’s comments against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Ranjan said, “Lalu Yadav is implicated in numerous scandals. If being a scamster is a prerequisite for leadership, then undoubtedly, Lalu Prasad Yadav is a significant leader. However, the person who understands the public’s pain and issues is Nitish Kumar. He has been steering the state towards becoming a ‘developed Bihar’.”
Ranjan further commented, “When the RJD became the largest party last time, Tejashwi Yadav had the opportunity to be humble, shed arrogance, and build trust among party leaders and workers. However, he failed, and now his party holds only 25 seats. There is a deep sense of apathy within the RJD, and internal family disputes complicate matters. Thus, Tejashwi Yadav’s path ahead is not easy.”
On Nitin Naveen’s visit to Patna, the JD(U) spokesperson remarked, “This is a significant opportunity for Bihar. The people of the state feel proud that after 45 years of BJP’s establishment, a leader from Bihar has become the president of this largest party in the world.” He also mentioned that both the BJP and NDA would benefit from Naveen’s presidency in Bihar.
Praising the India-U.S. trade agreement, Ranjan noted, “This trade deal has greatly benefited India and presents a significant opportunity to overcome uncertainties in the business world. Our trade partnership with the U.S. was approximately $86 billion in the last financial year.”
Ranjan explained that under this agreement, goods worth $46 billion will have zero tariffs, while around $30 billion worth of goods will incur an 18% tariff, which is advantageous for India.
