Political Tensions Rise Over PM Modis Speech in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, February 6: Political rhetoric has intensified following Prime Minister Modi‘s address during the motion of thanks for President Droupadi Murmu’s speech in the Rajya Sabha. Congress MP Sukdev Bhagat responded critically to PM Modi’s remarks.

Bhagat stated that the Prime Minister’s speech resembled more of a campaign rally for the Bharatiya Janata Party than a motion of thanks. He noted that while the speech contained many points, it failed to address any real issues. According to Bhagat, where factual discussions were expected, the Prime Minister resorted to emotional appeals.

Regarding PM Modi’s comments on the ‘Gandhi surname,’ he asserted that the Congress party did not steal the Gandhi name; rather, it is ingrained in their very being. He sarcastically remarked that those aligned with Godse’s ideology would naturally shy away from Gandhi.

On the ongoing controversy surrounding Netflix’s film ‘Ghuskhor Pandit,’ Bhagat emphasized the importance of freedom of expression but stressed that it should not come at the expense of hurting anyone’s sentiments. He pointed out that despite the director’s clarifications, care must be taken to ensure that no community feels offended.

Congress MP Imran Masood also weighed in on ‘Ghuskhor Pandit,’ stating that while he lacks detailed information about the film, it is crucial not to hurt anyone’s feelings. He clearly stated that sensitivity is essential in any creative work.

Responding to Asaduddin Owaisi’s comments, Masood condemned the use of toxic language by someone in a constitutional position, calling it serious and unfortunate. He warned that such words can create societal tension and should be avoided.
