
Patna, February 4: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar commended the Bihar Budget for 2026-27, presented by Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, during a session on Tuesday. He described the budget as a reflection of the government’s commitment to building a developed Bihar through inclusive and equitable growth.
In response to the budget in the Bihar Assembly, Kumar shared a post stating that the budget is based on the principle of “development with justice,” catering to the needs of all sections of society, including farmers, entrepreneurs, youth, and women.
Kumar emphasized that the 2026-27 state budget is comprehensive, inclusive, and development-oriented. This year’s budget exceeds ₹34 lakh crore, which is ₹30,000 crore more than the previous year’s budget. The projected growth rate for Bihar in the fiscal year 2026-27 is estimated at 14.9 percent.
He noted that this budget will play a crucial role in implementing the government’s “Seven Resolves-3” initiative. Kumar reiterated the government’s commitment to providing employment to 1 crore youth over the next five years, stating that this process has already begun through prudent financial management.
He highlighted the provision under the Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme, which offers financial assistance of ₹2 lakh to one woman from each family to promote employment and self-reliance.
The Chief Minister stated that the budget aims to ensure opportunities for every family, skill development for every youth, and empowerment for women. The state is promoting industry, and special provisions have been made to strengthen progress in education, health, and agriculture.
Kumar stressed that efficient management of the state’s financial resources will further accelerate Bihar’s development. He also acknowledged the support of the central government in Bihar’s growth trajectory.
He expressed optimism that in the coming years, Bihar will rank among the most developed states in the country.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary welcomed the budget, stating that it will provide new momentum to Bihar’s development. He noted that the budget has reached nearly ₹35 lakh crore, giving Bihar a new direction under the NDA government.
