NDA Lawmakers Accuse Opposition of Undermining Democracy

New Delhi, February 11: Tensions are rising in the Lok Sabha as opposition lawmakers demand the removal of Speaker Om Birla. NDA members have criticized the opposition, claiming they are disrespecting democracy. Their continuous disruptions over various issues are detrimental to the nation, they argue.

Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju targeted the Congress party, stating, “At least 20-25 Congress MPs entered the Speaker’s chamber and behaved inappropriately. I was present. The Speaker is a very lenient person; otherwise, strict action would have been taken. Senior Congress leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and K.C. Venugopal, were also inside, inciting them to fight.”

BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal emphasized the honor associated with the Speaker’s position. He noted that since Om Birla assumed the role, he has never attended a BJP meeting to maintain impartiality. Allegations against him are unfounded, and the opposition should not insult democracy or the Speaker’s office in this manner.

Jaiswal also criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, mentioning that the publisher and former Army Chief Naravane confirmed that the book in question has not been published. “No one takes Rahul Gandhi seriously. Now he has brought up this unpublished book, making accusations against the BJP that are unjustified,” he stated.

JD(U) National Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha asserted that Rahul Gandhi should apologize. “When both Naravane and the publisher have stated that the book is unpublished, and the Speaker repeatedly said that you cannot quote an unpublished work, these statements are merely sensationalism. The Congress party and its leaders have begun to oppose the nation while opposing the government,” he remarked.

Rajasthan BJP President and MP Madan Rathore added, “Rahul Gandhi lives in a fantasy. He attempts to damage reputations. We recognize our country’s leadership. It is disgraceful to speak about Prime Minister Modi in such a manner.”
