MP Minister Criticizes Congress for Promoting Islamic Calendar

Bhopal, February 9: Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Vishwas Sarang launched a sharp attack on the Congress party on Monday. He labeled Congress as an entity opposed to Sanatan Dharma, Hindu philosophy, festivals, and saints, questioning their distribution of the Islamic Hijri calendar. Sarang stated that Congress is willing to go to any lengths for the sake of appeasement Politics.

Speaking to reporters, Vishwas Sarang said, “Congress opposes Sanatan Dharma, Hindu philosophy, Hindu festivals, and saints. What do they aim to prove by distributing the Islamic calendar? Can they provide even one example where a Congress leader has shared positive literature or material related to Hindu festivals?”

He accused Congress of wearing the sacred thread during elections to project a Hindu image while secretly indulging in Muslim appeasement. If the BJP or any other party conducts Hindu religious events, Congress accuses them of promoting Hindutva, yet they openly distribute the Hijri calendar, revealing their allegiance to Muslim interests.

Sarang also referenced the opposition to the Ram Temple by Congress. He remarked, “Congress opposes the Ram Temple, questions the existence of Lord Ram, and denies his existence in an affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, they distribute the Islamic calendar. This is clearly minority appeasement and vote bank politics.”

The BJP leader emphasized that Congress’s double standards have become evident to the public. They hurt Hindu sentiments but are willing to go to any extent to attract minority votes.

This statement follows Congress leader Manoj Shukla’s initiative to print 50,000 Hijri calendars for distribution among mosques and Muslim families in the Narela assembly constituency, where approximately 28 percent of the electorate is Muslim, totaling over 100,000 voters. Congress describes this as an effort to promote Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb and love, while the BJP condemns it as politics that fosters extremism.
