Kuala Lumpur, February 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Malaysia on Saturday for a two-day visit. He shared glimpses of his journey through various posts. During his visit, PM Modi met individuals he had mentioned in his radio program, “Mann Ki Baat,” expressing his delight at the encounters.
In a social media post, PM Modi noted that he met a group from the Malaysia India Heritage Society, which is doing commendable work in promoting Indian culture in Malaysia. He had previously discussed them in last month’s “Mann Ki Baat.” They presented him with a book highlighting the role of culture in the historical ties between India and Malaysia.
Upon his arrival at the airport, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed him. The two leaders then shared a car ride to a community event in Kuala Lumpur, showcasing their personal rapport and connection with the people. PM Modi posted a picture from the car, stating, “Celebrating the bond between India and Malaysia! PM Anwar Ibrahim and I are heading to a community program in Kuala Lumpur.” This gesture reflects the love and respect shown by the Malaysian PM towards India and its community.
In his address, PM Modi also mentioned PM Anwar Ibrahim’s singing talent. He remarked, “I have heard that Indian music and films are quite popular in Malaysia. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim sings very well, though many in India were previously unaware of this. During his last visit to India, when he sang an old Hindi song, the video went viral on social media.”
The community event, titled “Selamat Datang Modiji,” was held at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Organized by the Indian diaspora, the event featured around 800 dancers performing a choreographed dance for five continuous minutes, showcasing various styles of Indian classical and folk dances.
