Madhya Pradesh Deputy CM Urges Swift Action on Water Supply Project

Bhopal, February 9: Madhya Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla expressed strong dissatisfaction on Monday regarding delays in the water supply project for the Guhj industrial area. He directed officials to expedite the work.

During a high-level review meeting with senior departmental heads, Shukla criticized the slow progress of the ₹16 crore water project, despite prior state government approval and funding allocation.

The state government had sanctioned the Guhj water project and allocated ₹16 crore for it. However, the responsible officials have yet to complete the project.

Shukla stated, “This project will provide 5 MLD of water to the Guhj Municipal Council and another 5 MLD to the Guhj industrial area. Completing this project will strengthen the water supply system in the Guhj region and contribute to the development of the industrial sector.”

The senior BJP leader from Rewa emphasized that robust infrastructure services such as electricity, water, roads, and drainage are essential for the proper development of any industrial area.

He noted, “Without these facilities, industrial units are reluctant to invest, which adversely affects the region’s industrial growth.”

During the review meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister instructed officials to prioritize development works in the Guhj industrial area and ensure immediate and effective actions for the expansion of electricity, roads, water supply, and other essential services.

He added that the overall development of the Guhj industrial area would strengthen the industrial profile of Rewa district and create substantial employment opportunities for local youth.

Shukla also emphasized the need for all relevant departments to work in coordination. The establishment of industries will increase both direct and indirect employment and strengthen the region’s economic status.

Notably, during his visit to Rewa last week, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the establishment of a new 100-acre industrial area in Guhj to promote local industrial development and employment.
