Karnataka BJP Files Complaint Against Youth Congress for Alleged Provocation

Bengaluru, February 9: The Karnataka BJP has lodged a police complaint against officials of the Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee. They are accused of using false posters to incite public sentiment against the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, allegedly attempting to disrupt law and order in the state.

A delegation, including Bengaluru North District President S. Harish, Bengaluru Central District President Saptagiri Gowda, and Bengaluru South District President C.K. Ramamurthy, met with Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Division) Akshay M. Hakay to submit a memorandum regarding the matter.

According to the memorandum, on February 8, the State Youth Congress displayed a banner in front of Vidhana Soudha targeting Prime Minister Modi. The banner allegedly stated that a Prime Minister who lacks the courage to come to Parliament cannot defend the country. BJP leaders claimed this action was part of a conspiracy against the central government.

The memorandum further alleged that Youth Congress members were plotting to incite rebellion against the central government and PM Modi through false propaganda. The BJP demands that cases be filed against the Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress officials for illegally displaying banners in front of Vidhana Soudha, insulting the office of the Prime Minister, and attempting to create law and order issues in the state.

Meanwhile, BJP state president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra condemned the police action against Tejasvi Surya and Jayanagar MLA C.K. Ramamurthy during protests against the increase in metro fares. He described the Congress-led government’s actions as a mockery of democracy. This not only suppresses freedom of expression but also exemplifies a dictatorial attitude, he stated, expressing strong disapproval of the government’s measures.

Vijayendra remarked that opposing the anti-people policies of the Karnataka Congress government, which is allegedly trying to exploit the common man through increased metro fares, has become a crime. He emphasized that arresting BJP leaders in an attempt to silence public voices is unacceptable. If the government believes it can suppress the truth through such actions, it is living in delusion. He noted that while the central government has temporarily halted the fare increase, the Congress government’s anti-people stance continues unabated.

He stressed that failures cannot be hidden behind tyranny. If the government, intoxicated by power, attempts to stifle public anger, it will become necessary for every party worker and citizen to take to the streets to uphold democratic rights.
