K. Kavitha to Launch New Political Party in Telangana Soon

Hyderabad, February 6: K. Kavitha, the president of Telangana Jagruti, announced on Friday that she will unveil a new political party within three months.

In a conversation with the media, she stated that she is waiting for an auspicious moment to launch the new political entity. Kavitha, the daughter of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, left the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) after being suspended last year due to anti-party activities.

The former MP revealed that Telangana Jagruti will hold a meeting in Hyderabad on February 12 to pay tribute to those who sacrificed for Telangana.

Kavitha criticized the BRS, claiming that the party is not genuinely addressing the issue of reservations for backward classes. She pointed out that the BRS nominated B. Madhav Reddy for the municipal elections, despite Reddy having filed a petition against 42% reservations for backward classes in the High Court.

She expressed her disbelief when BRS executive president K.T. Rama Rao urged voters to support the party without considering the candidates.

Madhav Reddy was previously associated with Telangana Jagruti but later formed a separate organization called Reddy Jagruti, claiming to advocate for the interests of the Reddy community.

Meanwhile, Kavitha asserted that 16 BRS leaders from Sirisilla sought tickets from Telangana Jagruti to contest in the municipal elections. Sirisilla is the same constituency where her brother K.T.R. serves as a legislator.

Kavitha also accused K.T.R. and T. Harish Rao of campaigning only in areas where Telangana Jagruti has fielded candidates.

She criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for using abusive language against KCR, alleging that he is unable to confront KCR politically and resorts to insults instead. Kavitha emphasized that KCR’s name cannot be erased from Telangana’s history.

Regarding the alleged phone tapping investigation, she remarked that it resembles a television serial and urged the government to clarify when this ‘serial’ will conclude.

Kavitha also criticized Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar for dismissing petitions related to the disqualification of eight BRS MLAs who joined Congress. She questioned, “The Speaker claims these MLAs are still part of BRS. If that’s true, how can Congress appoint one of them (Arekatapudi Gandhi) as the party in-charge for the Nizamabad district municipal elections?”
