JGU Signs MOUs with Global Universities to Enhance Academic Collaboration

Panaji, February 9: O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) recently signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with ten leading universities from five countries during the QS India Summit 2026 held in Goa. These agreements aim to promote academic collaboration between JGU and foreign institutions, opening new avenues for study and research across different nations.

Under these MOUs, student and faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives, academic activities, and other educational programs will be developed collaboratively, tailored to the academic priorities of the partner universities.

The universities partnering with JGU include the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Royal Roads University, University of Guelph, and Brock University from Canada; the University of Otago from New Zealand; the University of Sheffield and the University of Stirling from the United Kingdom; Delta University for Science and Technology from Egypt; and Shinawatra University from Thailand.

With these new agreements, JGU’s international partnerships have now exceeded 600 across more than 80 countries. This expansion will provide JGU students and faculty with enhanced opportunities for studying abroad, research, skill development, and global academic collaboration.

On this occasion, JGU’s founding Vice Chancellor, Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, emphasized the necessity of global academic partnerships in today’s interconnected world. He stated that international collaboration not only broadens the scope of education and research but also generates valuable knowledge for society. The MOUs signed at the QS India Summit reflect JGU’s strong commitment to global education and research.

Professor Padmanabha Ramanujam, Dean of Academic Governance and Student Life at JGU, noted that international collaboration is successful only when it is substantial and results-oriented. He explained that these agreements provide a robust framework for research, academic exchange, and faculty collaboration, ensuring that all initiatives meet established academic standards.

Additionally, Professor (Dr.) Akhil Bhardwaj, Vice Dean of International Affairs and Global Initiatives, remarked that these ten MOUs will further strengthen JGU’s international strategy. They will open new pathways for students and faculty regarding studying abroad, exchange programs, and joint academic courses. He highlighted JGU’s focus on building long-lasting international relationships to deliver real academic benefits to the university community.

The QS India Summit 2026 saw the participation of senior officials from several prominent universities in India and abroad. The summit extensively discussed innovations in higher education, collaboration among institutions, and the emerging needs of global education.
