Historic Trade Agreement Strengthens India-US Economic Ties

Lucknow, February 7: After finalizing the trade agreement between India and the United States, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that this marks a historic step towards strengthening economic partnerships.

On the social media platform ‘X’, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote, “This interim trade framework decisively boosts ‘Make in India‘. It expands global market access for Indian products while safeguarding farmers, food security, and rural livelihoods.”

He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting, “He has demonstrated decisive and dynamic leadership in securing a balanced, reciprocal, and India-first agreement that empowers MSMEs, boosts exports, strengthens supply chains, and creates new opportunities for youth.”

Adityanath also mentioned that the growing India-US collaboration reflects increasing global confidence in ‘Made in India’ and reinforces India’s position as a key driver of global growth.

Earlier, National Lok Dal leader and Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary praised the India-US trade agreement. He stated, “Prime Minister Modi has worked to change trade policies and agreements with other countries and groups for farmers, workers, artisans, cottage industries, and youth. He has made this clear and reiterated it multiple times.”

He added, “Farmers in the country know that better prices, products, and economic progress will come from science, law, and trade. Happy farmers lead to prosperous villages, and together we move towards a developed India.”

Union Minister Jitin Prasada commented on the trade agreement, saying, “A mutual tariff reduction of 18 percent will be a game changer for Indian exporters. From textiles and leather to machinery and handicrafts, this agreement creates opportunities for expansion, global reach, and competitiveness.”

Prasada also noted that the interim agreement framework will further strengthen India’s leading position in the digital services sector. Joint technology cooperation between the two countries will establish India as a future hub for AI, data, and digital services. He mentioned that the India-US trade agreement preserves dairy, fruits, vegetables, spices, and other grains, providing a boost to local agriculture and taking another strong step towards self-reliant India.
