Four Arrested in Attack on Tourist in Bhaderwah, Doda

Doda, February 8: The Doda police in Jammu and Kashmir have arrested four individuals in connection with an attack on a tourist in Bhaderwah. The incident was reported on Friday when Suresh Kumar, a resident of Nagni Bhalra, filed a written complaint at the Bhaderwah police station regarding the assault.

In response to the complaint, the Doda police took immediate action to prevent any further violence or disruption of peace. They initiated preventive measures under Section 126/170 of the Indian National Security Code (BNSC) on Saturday.

The arrested individuals include Javed Iqbal, Owais Ahmed, Khursheed Ahmed, and Avinash Manhas. All detainees have been presented before the First Class Executive Magistrate in Bhaderwah for further legal proceedings.

The Doda police remain committed to ensuring the safety of tourists and maintaining law and order. They reiterated their dedication to creating a secure, protected, and tourist-friendly environment. Any actions that disrupt public peace, harmony, or safety will be dealt with strictly under the law.

Previously, the Jammu police took stringent action against criminals, registering a case under the Public Safety Act (PSA) against a notorious criminal from the Bishnah area, who was subsequently sent to Bhaderwah jail.

Baldev Raj, son of Kalu Ram, was arrested under the PSA after obtaining a formal custody order from the district magistrate of Jammu. The accused has been sent to Bhaderwah jail.

It is important to note that there are multiple FIRs already registered against this notorious criminal in Jammu district. He has repeatedly managed to secure bail from the courts. To prevent him from engaging in criminal activities, a recommendation was made to file a case against him under the strict Public Safety Act (PSA), which led to the issuance of a PSA warrant by the district magistrate of Jammu.
