Former MLA Baljeet Yadav Sent to ED Custody for Three Days

Jaipur, February 4: Former MLA Baljeet Yadav from Behror was presented in a special ED court in Jaipur on Wednesday regarding the MLA LAD fund scam. The court has remanded him to ED custody for three days.

This case pertains to the alleged embezzlement of the MLA Local Area Development Fund. Yadav’s next court appearance is scheduled for February 7. The ED initially sought a six-day remand, but the court granted only three days for now. The hearing took place in the CBI Special Court No. 3 and lasted approximately five hours.

During the proceedings, both sides presented their arguments in detail. Yadav’s lawyer claimed that his arrest was entirely illegal and motivated by political vendetta. The lawyer argued that this case is merely a part of political retaliation aimed at harassing the former MLA.

On the other hand, the ED’s representative emphasized the need for a thorough investigation, stating that Yadav allegedly created fake firms to siphon off funds. The ED argued that remanding him was essential to interrogate other witnesses and delve deeper into the case.

After considering all arguments, the court decided to remand Baljeet Yadav to ED custody for three days. The proceedings were conducted in a completely peaceful and orderly manner, allowing all parties ample opportunity to present their cases.

Judge Khagendra Kumar Sharma, after reviewing the arguments, granted only a three-day remand to enable the ED to conduct preliminary investigations and determine further actions. The next hearing in this matter is set for February 7.
