
New Delhi, February 8: Delhi’s Urban Development Minister, Ashish Sood, visited the home of the young man who lost his life in the Janakpuri incident on Sunday. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family.
The minister described the event as deeply painful and unbearable, stating that it has shaken the entire community. He assured the family that the Delhi government stands firmly with them during this difficult time.
Minister Sood emphasized that the government will ensure the family receives all possible assistance, support, and justice. He reassured them that the Delhi government is treating this matter with utmost sensitivity and seriousness.
He clarified that the Janakpuri incident is not merely an accident but a serious issue linked to administrative negligence. The minister announced that directives have been issued for a thorough investigation into all aspects of the incident.
Sood stated that if any negligence or failure of duty is found at any level, strict action will be taken against those responsible. He stressed that the safety of citizens is the top priority for the Delhi government, and any form of negligence in public infrastructure projects will not be tolerated.
To prevent the recurrence of such incidents, he mentioned that strict guidelines are being issued to the relevant departments, and the monitoring system will be strengthened. He also noted that the Delhi government will implement necessary systemic reforms based on lessons learned from this incident, ensuring that there is no compromise on the safety and lives of citizens.
The minister’s visit coincided with the Delhi Police’s arrest of the second accused in the case from Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh.
