Beijing, February 7: Chinese Premier Li Qiang convened a State Council permanent meeting on February 6 to address various reports from national representatives and suggestions from the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) for 2025. The meeting focused on increasing effective investment, amending environmental air quality standards, and discussing draft amendments to laws regarding bidding invitations and placements.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that effectively addressing the opinions of national representatives and CPPCC suggestions is essential for the government to accept oversight and fulfill its duties according to the law. This process reflects a significant commitment to implementing a comprehensive democracy.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of increasing effective investment for stable economic growth and development. Policy reforms should focus on utilizing central budget investments, long-term special treasury bonds, local government special bonds, and new types of policy financial resources efficiently.
In line with the 15th Five-Year Plan, it is crucial to present and implement key projects in infrastructure, urban renewal, public services, and emerging future businesses, considering long-term development needs and establishing competitive advantages.
The meeting noted that after continuous efforts, there has been significant improvement in China’s air quality over recent years, with public satisfaction levels steadily rising. The revised environmental air quality standards will demand higher annual density levels for PM 2.5. We must ensure a beautiful blue sky.
