Development works are underway in Ujjain in preparation for the upcoming Kumbh Mela. Construction activities are accelerating, with road repairs and new routes being established. Additionally, encroachments around the Mahakal Temple and other areas are being removed.

On Wednesday, CM Mohan Yadav performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the Ujjain Municipal Corporation’s Harikhedi water augmentation project, which has a total cost of ₹1,133.67 crore. This project will include the construction of 17 new overhead tanks with capacities ranging from 600 to 3,000 kiloliters.

The project will also involve laying a 708 km long pipeline, with approximately 534 kilometers dedicated to a new distribution network. Once completed, this initiative will ensure timely and adequate water supply to a large population.

In anticipation of the Kumbh Mela, efforts are being made to expand civic amenities while also improving the ghats along the Kshipra River. This is crucial as millions of devotees are expected to bathe at the riverbanks during the event.
