Amit Shah Highlights RSSs Role in Indias National Journey

Raipur, February 9: Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Sunday that no historian can deny the significant contribution of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to India’s national journey, both before and after independence.

Expressing gratitude towards the RSS, Shah noted that there is no area in the country where RSS volunteers have not made a positive impact.

While addressing the 25th anniversary of Chhattisgarh’s formation, he emphasized that political parties and development should be driven by a strong and positive ideology. He contrasted the development-oriented ideological approach of the BJP with what he termed destructive ideologies.

Shah asserted that Chhattisgarh’s development is linked to an ideological framework focused on social, economic, and infrastructural growth, rather than one that promotes conflict.

He highlighted that since independence, the contribution of RSS volunteers has been most prominent across various sectors of national life.

The Union Home Minister remarked that over the past three decades, the division of states has been overseen by the NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the UPA government led by Dr. Manmohan Singh.

He pointed out that during Vajpayee’s tenure, three new states—Chhattisgarh from Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand from Bihar, and Uttarakhand from Uttar Pradesh—were formed peacefully and with consensus, all of which now contribute to the nation’s progress.

In contrast, he noted that during Dr. Manmohan Singh’s tenure, the division of Andhra Pradesh was marked by protests, with the bill being passed while Andhra MPs were excluded from the Lok Sabha, leading to prolonged disputes.
