Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has declared a financial aid of ₹1 crore for the family of Inspector Jagdish Prasad and instructed officials to take immediate measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
Saini also stated that the government would provide a job on compassionate grounds to a qualified member of the inspector’s family.
In a statement, Saini mentioned, “I personally reviewed the treatment being provided to the injured. Out of the eight hospitalized victims, four have been discharged, while the remaining four will be discharged after treatment at BK Civil Hospital.”
It is reported that a large tsunami swing collapsed during the Surajkund Mela in Faridabad on Saturday evening, resulting in the death of Inspector Jagdish Prasad and injuries to twelve others.
Police confirmed that a case has been filed against Mohammad Shakeer, the owner of Himachal Fun Care, under charges of involuntary manslaughter and other related offenses. Shakeer, who is responsible for the rides at the fair, hails from Toka Nangla village in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district. Another accused, Nitesh from Dharmapuri in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has also been arrested.
On Sunday, the fair management suspended all rides for a complete safety recheck, while other sections of the fair remained open to visitors.
