Congress Protests in Bihar Over Students Death and MPs Arrest

Patna, February 8: Leaders from the Bihar Congress took to the streets on Sunday to protest the lack of arrests in the case of a student’s death while residing in a hostel. They also voiced their opposition to the arrest of MP Pappu Yadav, who has been advocating for justice in this matter.

At the state Congress headquarters, activists staged a vigorous demonstration, even burning an effigy of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Senior Congress leaders issued a stern warning to the state government and administration, stating that they will not tolerate the injustices and atrocities faced by the daughters of Bihar under a government influenced by a central authoritarian mindset. They emphasized that the Congress party has always led the fight for the safety, justice, and rights of girls and women, and will continue to do so.

The leaders highlighted that MP Pappu Yadav has been a vocal critic of the state government regarding the student’s death. They condemned his arrest, claiming it was an attempt by the ineffective state government to suppress the case. The Congress leaders labeled the NDA government in Bihar as tyrannical, demanding immediate justice for the student and her family. They criticized the state government for trying to stifle the constitutional rights of the MP through police force.

During the protest, Congress workers and leaders chanted slogans against the Nitish government, reiterating their commitment to stand by the deceased student’s family until justice is served. They stated that the midnight arrest of a sitting MP is a direct assault on democracy and an example of the misuse of power. The Congress party condemned this action and called for an immediate end to this political vendetta.

The protest saw participation from numerous leaders and activists, including Congress party‘s National Media Coordinator Sanjeev Singh, Roshan Kumar Singh, Kumar Ashish, Pankaj Yadav, and Asitnath Tiwari.
