Security Breach in Barabanki Court as Murder Accused Escapes

Barabanki, February 8: A serious security lapse occurred in the Barabanki court complex on Saturday. Just before being sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case, a notorious accused managed to escape police custody and fled the court premises.

The incident caused a stir within the police department. News of the murder suspect’s escape from such a highly secured location created chaos in the area.

According to reports, the prisoner, Suraj Kumar, was brought to the court under police protection. The incident took place around 4:15 PM, as Suraj was about to receive his life sentence from Additional District Judge Rakesh Kumar in Court Number Two.

While court proceedings were ongoing and the sentencing announcement was pending, the accused took advantage of the situation, deceived the police officers present, and escaped from the court complex.

Suraj Kumar is a resident of the Subeha police station area in Barabanki. He faced charges under Section 302, among others, and was set to be sentenced on Saturday.

Upon receiving the news, senior police officials rushed to the scene with a heavy police force. They interrogated the personnel on duty to gather information about the incident.

The escape of the accused from within the court complex has raised serious questions regarding police security measures. Authorities are now reviewing footage from CCTV cameras located at all exits of the court premises to trace the escape route. The Superintendent of Police has formed a special team to apprehend the fugitive.
