Mumbai, February 6: In a heartfelt Instagram post, renowned TV and film producer Ekta Kapoor shared her unique perspective on her father, Jeetendra. While many daughters see their fathers as heroes, Ekta’s view is distinctly different.
She revealed her thoughts through a video featuring Jeetendra dancing to the song “Tere Sang Pyaar Mein” from his iconic film ‘Naagin.’ In her post, she playfully questioned, “If my father was a real Naag (shape-shifting serpent), does that mean I am a Naagin?”
Jeetendra played a significant role in the 1976 film ‘Naagin,’ which revolves around the tale of shape-shifting serpents. The song “Tere Sang Pyaar Mein,” beautifully sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Mahendra Kapoor, features lyrics by Verma Malik and music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
In ‘Naagin,’ Jeetendra starred as the Naag, while Reena Roy portrayed the Naagin. Directed by Raj Kumar Kohli, this film was one of the biggest multi-starrer hits of its time, featuring stars like Sunil Dutt, Rekha, Mumtaz, Feroz Khan, and Sanjay Khan. The plot centers on a Naagin seeking revenge on a group of hunters who killed her lover, played by Jeetendra.
Ekta Kapoor is also known for producing the ‘Naagin’ franchise, which has seen multiple successful seasons on television. Currently, ‘Naagin 7’ is airing, featuring actress Priyanka Chahar Choudhary in the lead role as Ananta, who transforms into a Naagin to avenge her mother’s murder.
