Political Tensions Rise Over Owaisis Comments on Muslim Identity

Lucknow, February 6: Political tensions have escalated following comments made by Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). Owaisi stated that the Miyan community is made up of Indian citizens and should not be marginalized. He further accused political parties of disfavoring Muslim leadership. In response, Sanjay Nishad, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, expressed strong criticism.

Nishad emphasized that any citizen of India should embrace and respect Indian culture. He stated that making offensive remarks against Bharat Mata or raising voices against Indian culture is unacceptable under any circumstances. He underscored the importance of respecting Indian culture while rejecting foreign influences.

Praising Prime Minister Modi’s address in the Rajya Sabha, Nishad remarked that the slogan “Modi hai to mumkin hai” has become a reality. He noted that India was losing its identity, but Modi has restored it. According to Nishad, PM Modi is making India strong and self-reliant, leading the nation towards development.

Targeting the Congress party, Nishad claimed that society is well aware of Congress’s misdeeds, asserting that the public is the true judge. He stated that people have decided they want a corruption-free India, while other parties have worked to undermine the rights of citizens.

Supporting PM Modi’s remarks about the Gandhi family regarding the surname ‘Gandhi,’ Nishad stated that the country knows the true nature of Gandhi. He referenced history, noting that Sardar Patel received 14 votes, while Jawaharlal Nehru received only one, yet Nehru was made party president and Prime Minister. This, he argued, indicates that these individuals initially stole votes and have now appropriated Gandhi’s name.

On the controversy surrounding the film “Ghooskhore Pandit,” Nishad called for the censor board to monitor YouTube channels, web series, and popular content. He stressed the need for this oversight to prevent discrimination against any class or community and to maintain social harmony.

Expressing sorrow over the murder of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi, Nishad deemed it a serious incident. He stated that the government stands with the victim’s family and called for a fair investigation, demanding strict punishment for the culprits to prevent such incidents in the future.
