Uttar Pradesh Launches Beekeeping Initiative for Rural Womens Empowerment

Lucknow, February 5: A significant step is being taken in Uttar Pradesh to enhance the income of rural women and empower Agriculture. The Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission has launched a beekeeping program aimed at increasing honey production and boosting crop productivity among women associated with self-help groups.

Under this initiative, the goal is to train one lakh women beekeepers over the next three years. Each woman entrepreneur is expected to see an annual income increase of up to one lakh rupees. The pollination by bees is anticipated to significantly enhance the yield of wheat, mustard, pulses, and horticultural crops, directly benefiting farmers.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Mission Village aims to give Uttar Pradesh honey a global identity. Women will develop their own honey brands and contribute to the state’s economic growth through the marketing of honey and other products. This will strengthen the rural economy and help realize women’s dreams of self-reliance.

The program will provide training, technical support, and connect entrepreneurs to markets, ensuring that Uttar Pradesh honey gains recognition for its quality and reliability both nationally and internationally.

In a related matter, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a firm stance against accidents caused by Chinese manjha (kite string). He believes that fatalities resulting from Chinese manjha are akin to murder. Strict legal action will be taken against those responsible for such incidents. CM Yogi has made it clear that Chinese manjha is completely banned, and its continued availability is a serious concern. He has instructed the police to conduct extensive raids across the state, focusing not only on the sale of Chinese manjha but also on its storage and transportation.
