Weather Changes in Tamil Nadu: Fog and Light Rain Expected

Chennai, February 4: Residents of Tamil Nadu can expect a variety of weather conditions over the next two days. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), the state will experience mild cold, morning fog in some areas, and light rain in select regions.

The weather department has indicated that moderate fog may blanket the western and northwestern districts during the morning hours. People living in hilly and interior areas, particularly in districts like Nilgiris, Salem, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Tirupattur, Vellore, and Ranipet, may face reduced visibility in the early morning.

This fog could lead to low visibility, causing difficulties for drivers traveling on highways and ghat roads. Authorities have advised caution for those traveling during the morning hours.

In contrast to the fog in the western regions, light rain is forecasted for southern Tamil Nadu and the fertile delta districts on Thursday. The weather center predicts that light drizzles may occur in one or two locations. Coastal areas around Karaikal may also experience brief periods of rain.

While the rain is not expected to be heavy, it may provide some relief from the prolonged dry conditions, particularly benefiting crops in agricultural areas.

The rest of the state and the Union Territory of Puducherry are expected to remain dry. Most areas will have clear or partly cloudy skies, with little chance of significant rainfall.

Meanwhile, signs indicate a slight increase in temperatures in interior Tamil Nadu. According to weather officials, maximum temperatures may remain slightly above normal after Thursday, leading to a noticeable difference between daytime warmth and morning chill.

In Chennai, partly cloudy conditions are anticipated. While heavy rain is not expected, light warmth during the day and pleasant weather in the evening may prevail.

The weather department has urged travelers, farmers, and the general public to keep an eye on local forecasts and take necessary precautions.
