Vijay Prepares for Tamil Nadu Elections with Party Applications

Chennai, February 7: Actor and politician Vijay is gearing up to enter the Tamil Nadu electoral arena through his party, Tamilga Vetri Kadagam (TVK). The party has called for applications from those interested in becoming candidates, and the response has been overwhelming.

According to party sources, Vijay is currently considering options between two constituencies in Chennai: Velachery and Virugambakkam. Previously, he had also contemplated areas like Vikravandi, Vedaranyam, and Vedasandur. However, he decided to change his strategy due to the challenges anticipated in campaigning in those regions.

Leaders believe that contesting from the capital city will allow Vijay to manage his campaign more effectively and strengthen the party’s foothold in urban areas.

TVK has begun distributing application forms at its headquarters in Panaiyur for its membership drive and candidate selection process. In just 90 minutes, nearly ten thousand forms were distributed, indicating a strong enthusiasm among the public to participate in the party under Vijay’s leadership. The distribution of forms will continue daily from 10 AM to 6 PM until February 14.

However, the large crowds have caused some inconvenience for local residents in Panaiyur. Narrow streets have led to heavy traffic, making it difficult for vehicles to navigate as they are parked on both sides of the road.

Local residents have reported that domestic workers and emergency services are facing challenges in their operations. In response, the local welfare association has appealed to the police for better crowd management and traffic control.

They clarified that they are not against political activities, but public events should not disrupt neighborhood facilities.
