
Lucknow, February 9: The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly’s budget session will commence on February 9 (Monday). Prior to this, a multi-party meeting was held on Sunday under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, which was also attended by Chief Minister and Leader of the House Yogi Adityanath.
During the meeting, Adityanath urged leaders of opposition parties to raise public-related issues in the assembly and engage in constructive discussions to facilitate development in the state. He emphasized that healthy discussions in the house are essential for addressing the public’s problems and advancing the state’s progress. He stated that every issue concerning the public’s interest should be discussed smoothly in the assembly, and all members should ensure that there are no disruptions in the proceedings.
Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana also sought cooperation from all members for the smooth conduct of the house. The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, Leader of the Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, Om Prakash Rajbhar, President of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party and Cabinet Minister, Dr. Sanjay Nishad, President of the Nishad Party and Cabinet Minister, Congress’s Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’, Ramesh Singh from the Nishad Party, Rajpal Baliyan from the Lok Dal, and Ramnivas Verma from the Apna Dal, among others.
It is noteworthy that the budget session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly is set to begin on Monday and will continue until February 20. On the first day of the session, Governor Anandiben Patel will address a joint meeting of both houses. The formal commencement of the budget session will coincide with the Governor’s address. According to the agenda, a total of 11 bills will be presented for approval on the first day, along with other significant legislative matters planned for discussion in the coming days.
