Washington, February 21: Former President Donald Trump has condemned the Supreme Court’s recent decision regarding tariffs, labeling it as disgraceful. He stated that while he cannot impose tariffs, he has the authority to halt trade with any nation, potentially crippling its economy.
In a press conference, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the Supreme Court’s dismissal of certain issues, asserting that alternative options will be utilized instead. “We have choices, very good choices. This could mean we will generate more revenue. We will gain more money, and this will make us even stronger,” he said.
Trump emphasized the absurdity of the ruling, noting that the court claimed he cannot impose even a single dollar in tariffs. “This decision must have been made for the security of other countries, not for the United States, which they are supposed to protect. That is their job,” he remarked.
He further asserted his right to completely cease trade with any country, stating that he could effectively dismantle that nation’s economy. Trump questioned the court’s logic, asking, “What license has ever been issued without a fee? When you issue a license, you collect fees. It happens automatically, but not with this court.”
He concluded by highlighting that the court has now granted him the unquestioned authority to block all kinds of goods from entering the country and to terminate trade with foreign nations altogether.
