Washington, February 21: President Donald Trump has responded to the U.S. Supreme Court‘s decision to block Tariffs, calling it a shameful ruling. In a press conference, he claimed that certain individuals are robbing America and warned that they will not remain happy for long. Trump also threatened to impose additional tariffs.
He expressed disappointment with the court’s ruling, stating that he did not expect such a decision. Trump criticized some members of the court, saying they lack the courage to act in the nation’s best interest. He emphasized that the dissenting opinions are indefensible.
Trump accused the court of being influenced by foreign interests and a political movement that is out of touch with the public. He asserted that he won by a significant margin, despite allegations of fraud, and that the victory was so substantial it could not be overturned.
He described the opposition as arrogant, ignorant, and loud, suggesting that some judges fear them and are unwilling to do what is right. Trump stressed the importance of this issue, particularly as a symbol of economic national security, declaring it crucial for the country.
He claimed that the court has capitulated to foreign interests and mentioned that there are other options regarding tariffs. His goal remains to make America great again. Despite the court’s ruling being incorrect, he stated it would not matter as they would explore other avenues, potentially collecting more revenue. He warned that a 10 percent global tariff could be imposed on all countries.
Trump concluded by stating that the Supreme Court‘s decision has only strengthened his resolve. He warned that those pleased with the ruling would not remain so for long and indicated that stricter measures on tariffs would follow.
It is noteworthy that the U.S. Supreme Court recently annulled Trump’s tariffs, stating that he does not have the authority to impose significant import duties on trade partners worldwide, including India, under the 1977 Emergency Act.
