Tripura to Establish International Skill Center and Language School

Agartala, February 4: The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, announced on Tuesday that the state government is in the process of establishing an international skill center and a foreign language school. This initiative aims to create global employment opportunities for the youth.

The Chief Minister made this statement while addressing the third regional workshop organized under the State Support Mission of the NITI Aayog, held at a hotel in Agartala. He emphasized that Good Governance is not limited to institutions or processes; its true purpose is to enhance the quality of life for citizens and ensure that development reaches the last person.

“The core objective of good governance is to improve the living standards of every citizen and to ensure that development reaches the last individual, as our Prime Minister frequently states. The State Support Mission symbolizes a significant shift in India’s federal governance system,” Saha remarked.

He further noted that this mission strengthens partnership-based cooperation between the center and states, viewing states not merely as implementing agencies but as equal partners in India’s development journey.

Through the State Support Mission, the NITI Aayog has assisted states in empowering their State Institutes of Transformation, which play a crucial role in policy-making, monitoring outcomes, and coordinating across various sectors. This mission also helps align the long-term vision of states with the national goal of ‘Developed India 2047.’

The Chief Minister explained that various states and union territories are at different stages of developing their State Institutes of Transformation, depending on their socio-economic and administrative conditions. Keeping this diversity in mind, the NITI Aayog has envisioned regional workshops to facilitate mutual learning, exchange of ideas, and shared solutions.

Saha highlighted that hosting the third regional workshop for Eastern and Northeastern states in Tripura signifies the NITI Aayog’s confidence in the region’s growing policy capacity and its readiness to contribute to national reform discussions.
