
Patna, February 17: A tragic road accident in Jahaanabad district, Bihar, resulted in the deaths of three young men and left another seriously injured. The incident occurred near the Kathar Bridge on the Patna-Jahaanabad main road on Tuesday.
According to police sources, a speeding car lost control while trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle and crashed into the bridge’s divider. The impact was so severe that the vehicle was completely wrecked.
The deceased have been identified as Sonu Kumar (21), Rohit Kumar (22), and Uddesh Kumar (18), all residents of Teni Begha village in Jahaanabad. They were cousins returning home after attending a friend’s sister’s engagement ceremony in the Punpun block of Patna district.
The accident took place around 3:00 AM. Another young man, Suraj (19), suffered serious injuries and was admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital after receiving initial treatment. Two of the victims died at the scene, while the third succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital.
The incident has plunged Teni Begha village into mourning. The loss of three young men from the same family has shattered their relatives and cast a pall of grief over the entire community.
On the same day, another tragic incident occurred in Shivhar district, where a teenager lost his life and three others were injured when a speeding motorcycle crashed into a tree. This accident took place on the Shivhar-Madhuban road near Nayagaon, under the jurisdiction of the Shyampur Bhathan police station.
The deceased was identified as Anmol Kumar, son of the late Rajesh Kumar, and a resident of Nayagaon. Reports indicate that four teenagers were traveling from Nayagaon to Shivhar when their motorcycle lost control due to high speed and collided with a tree. All four riders sustained serious injuries.
A police patrol team transported them to Sarojini Sitaraam Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared Anmol Kumar dead.
