New Delhi, February 9: Every fruit has its unique properties, and papaya is a remarkable fruit known for its ability to combat fever, purify the blood, and enhance skin health. This is why papaya and its leaves hold a significant place in Ayurveda, often referred to as the “fruit of immortality.” They possess the power to balance the body’s three doshas and aid in digestion.
Papaya is readily available throughout the year, and the enzyme papain it contains is beneficial for the stomach and intestines. It plays a crucial role in improving digestion, detoxifying the body, and facilitating nutrient absorption. Not only is the fruit beneficial, but papaya leaves and seeds are also used medicinally in Ayurveda. Although the leaves and seeds have a slightly bitter taste, they function effectively as a remedy.
For those struggling with skin issues, both consuming and applying papaya can be advantageous. Mixing papaya pulp with honey and applying it to the face can help tighten the skin and reduce blemishes. This combination enhances the skin’s glow. Additionally, if you are feeling weak due to fever, experiencing increased impurities in the blood, or have low platelet counts, boiling papaya leaves in water and drinking the infusion can be beneficial. This decoction purifies the blood and alleviates ailments.
If fever has weakened your immune system, daily consumption of papaya is recommended. The vitamin C in papaya helps boost immunity. You can also drink the juice of its leaves. Furthermore, if you are experiencing rapid hair loss, a paste made from papaya seeds can strengthen hair and relieve dryness. Applying this paste once a week is advisable.
Menstrual pain has become common due to poor diet and lack of physical activity. In such cases, consuming papaya can provide relief from discomfort.
