Tejashwi Yadav Appointed as RJDs National Executive President

Patna, February 8: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) congratulated Tejashwi Yadav on his appointment as the party’s National Executive President on Saturday. In a ceremony held at the RJD office, he was officially handed over the position, where party supporters honored him with a silver crown, symbolizing a change in leadership.

This decision is viewed within the RJD as a generational shift and a strategic move to strengthen the party ahead of upcoming electoral battles. Tejashwi Yadav’s political career has rapidly advanced in a relatively short time.

Before entering Politics, he was associated with the sports world but stepped into active politics following the 2015 Bihar Assembly elections. As Deputy Chief Minister in the Grand Alliance government, Tejashwi established a distinct political identity.

In recent years, he has emerged as the most prominent face of the RJD, playing a crucial role in making the party the largest in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections. The RJD was founded in 1997 after Lalu Prasad Yadav’s split from the Janata Dal following the fodder scam.

Rooted in the politics of social justice, the party focuses on empowering backward classes, Dalits, and minorities. During the Mandal era, the RJD emerged as a significant force in Bihar politics, maintaining influence in both government and opposition.

With Tejashwi Yadav’s ascension to the chief ministerial role, party workers hope that Lalu Prasad Yadav will continue to serve as the ideological guide, while organizational control and electoral strategy will now rest in Tejashwi’s hands.

Political analysts believe this appointment will inject new energy into the RJD, preparing the party to adopt a more aggressive stance for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. This move will not only shape the future direction of the RJD but will also have a significant impact on the political landscape of Bihar.
