Sharad Pawar Addresses NCPs Future and Recent Events

Baramati, February 4: Sharad Pawar, leader of the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), expressed his happiness during a press conference on Wednesday regarding Sunetra Pawar’s swearing-in as Deputy Chief Minister. He affirmed that the family remains united.

Regarding the possibility of a merger between the two factions of the NCP, Pawar stated, “Currently, our focus is on supporting those in distress and moving forward together. No discussions on any political decisions have taken place yet.”

Commenting on Rahul Gandhi‘s statements in Parliament, he said, “In my opinion, General Naravane was the Army Chief. If he has made a statement and it is being referenced in the House, it is the right of the opposition leaders to raise it. If a former Army Chief has written something, it is certainly a matter of concern. A discussion on this could reveal the true picture.”

On the India-U.S. trade agreement, Pawar noted, “A clear picture regarding the new agreement between the U.S. and India should emerge in the next two to three days, after which a detailed discussion can take place. However, the information released by the U.S. so far indicates that they have arrangements for exporting agricultural products, which is a concern for India.”

He added that the U.S. is a powerful nation with significant economic strength. If it exports any major agricultural products to other countries, it will undoubtedly impact those nations and their farmers. He hopes that such a situation does not arise in India’s agricultural sector.

Reflecting on the recent passing of Ajit Pawar, he remarked, “It is tragic, and politics should not be involved. Whenever an incident has occurred in Baramati, I have personally assessed the situation. I am well aware of the area. It was merely an accident.”
