Salim Khan is renowned in the Hindi film industry for redefining cinematic language and the portrayal of heroes. He began his career in acting, taking on minor roles in films during the 1960s, but did not achieve the recognition he sought. It was during this time that he realized his true strength lay in writing, leading him to shift his focus to screenplay writing, marking the start of his illustrious journey.

His fortunes changed when he teamed up with lyricist Javed Akhtar, forming the famous duo ‘Salim-Javed.’ Together, they crafted stories and dialogues that captivated audiences and set new box office records.

Some of their iconic films include cult classics like ‘Zanjeer,’ ‘Deewaar,’ ‘Sholay,’ and ‘Don.’ Through these films, they brought themes of societal anger, struggle, and hope to the big screen. Notably, ‘Zanjeer’ and ‘Deewaar’ helped establish Amitabh Bachchan as the ‘Angry Young Man’ of Indian cinema.

Salim Khan’s creative prowess has significantly contributed to the advancement of the film industry. As he remains hospitalized, the entire film fraternity is concerned about his health and wishes for his swift recovery.
