Royal Challengers Bangalore Clinch WPL 2026 Title with Stellar Performance

New Delhi, February 6: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 title by defeating Delhi Capitals by six wickets in the final match. The foundation of this victory was laid by the record-breaking performances of Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Wareham. Mandhana, in particular, dominated the tournament and set multiple impressive records.

In the final, Smriti Mandhana scored 87 runs off 41 balls, marking the highest individual score in WPL final history. Georgia Wareham contributed significantly with 79 runs, the second-highest score recorded in WPL finals. The previous record for the most runs in a final was held by Harmanpreet Kaur, who scored 66 runs in 2025.

The partnership between Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Wareham for the second wicket was historic, totaling 165 runs. This is now the largest partnership for any wicket in WPL history, surpassing the previous record of 162 runs set in 2023. This partnership also marked the first century partnership in a WPL final and is recognized as the largest partnership for any wicket in women’s T20 finals. With this achievement, Smriti Mandhana became the player with the most century partnerships in WPL history, totaling six.

Mandhana reached her half-century in just 23 balls, setting the record for the fastest fifty in WPL playoff history, previously held at 29 balls. This was also her fastest fifty in WPL matches.

Overall, Smriti Mandhana had an outstanding season, scoring 377 runs in nine innings and earning the Orange Cap. Her average stood at 53.85 with a strike rate of 153.25, making it the second-highest run tally in a single WPL season. She also crossed the milestone of 1,000 runs in WPL, becoming the fifth player to achieve this feat. Additionally, she became the leading run-scorer for Royal Challengers Bangalore in WPL history.

With this six-wicket victory, Royal Challengers Bangalore claimed their second WPL title.
