In the 65th minute, left-back Álvaro Carreras showcased his individual skill, navigating through two weak defensive challenges to score. Kylian Mbappé sealed the victory with a goal in injury time.
Following this defeat, Valencia’s situation worsened. The team is now close to the relegation zone and has recently been eliminated from the Copa del Rey.
Meanwhile, Real Betis avenged their 5-0 loss in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals by defeating Atlético Madrid 1-0 at the Metropolitano Stadium. The only goal of the match came from Antony in the 29th minute. Betis then relied on a strong defense and a stroke of luck when a potential equalizer from Atlético was ruled offside in the second half.
