
Colombo, February 14: A high-stakes T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan is set to take place at R. Premadasa Stadium this Sunday. Fans are eagerly anticipating the showdown, but rain poses a significant concern.
Weather forecasts indicate a 76% chance of rain in Colombo on Sunday. However, as evening approaches, the likelihood of rain decreases to 13% with 100% cloud cover expected.
In the T20 World Cup, India and Pakistan have faced each other eight times, with India holding a dominant record. The Men in Blue have won seven matches, while Pakistan’s only victory came in 2021. Since 2009, India has played 15 T20 matches at R. Premadasa Stadium, winning 11 and losing just four.
Currently, India tops Group A after winning its first two matches. The team secured a 29-run victory against the USA and later defeated Namibia by 93 runs.
On the other hand, Pakistan sits in second place in Group A but has lost both of its opening matches. The team initially won against the Netherlands by three wickets, but the USA later triumphed over them by 32 runs.
Following the match against Pakistan, India will face the Netherlands on February 18, while Pakistan will take on Namibia on the same day.
