
Patna, February 17: In a significant operation, police in Vaishali district conducted raids on two hotels on Monday, rescuing three women and arresting three suspects, while detaining a minor.
The raids took place at Abhishek Vaishali Hotel and The Royal Cafe and Restaurant, located in the Kharouna Pokhar area of Vaishali. Authorities allege that these establishments were being used by the owners and management for physical exploitation for profit.
Upon receiving information, a special team was formed under the leadership of the SDPO Sadar-02 (Lalganj), which included the station officer of Vaishali police station, the circle officer of Lalganj, and female police personnel. During the operation, three women were successfully rescued.
The arrested suspects include Neeraj Kumar and Mukesh Sahni, both residents of Vaishali district, and Mahesh Mahto from the Saran district. Additionally, a minor was taken into custody. Police recovered five mobile phones, ₹2,040 in cash, three receipts, a register, and a watch from the scene. A case has been registered at the Vaishali police station, and legal proceedings are ongoing.
In a separate operation, the Rohtas police raided the red-light area of Bikramganj, causing chaos in the locality. Officers reported observing women dancing and singing in the Dangai village. During the investigation, six individuals were detained, including four women associated with an orchestra. All detained women are adults and participate in orchestra performances at social events like weddings.
SDPO Sindhu Shekhar Singh of Bikramganj stated that this action is part of regular police operations, and further investigations are underway.
