New Delhi, February 6: A police encounter in the RK Puram area of Delhi early Friday morning created a stir. One criminal was shot in the leg during the confrontation, leading to the arrest of him and his accomplice.
According to reports, the encounter occurred around 3:30 AM when RK Puram police received information about two criminals planning a significant robbery in the area. Acting swiftly, the police set up a trap and surrounded the suspects.
As the criminals approached, the police instructed them to surrender. However, feeling cornered, the suspects opened fire on the police. In response, the police returned fire. During the exchange, the criminals fired a total of six shots, while the police fired four. One criminal was shot in the leg, causing him to fall to the ground. The police quickly apprehended him.
After capturing the injured criminal, the police also arrested his accomplice at the scene. Authorities stated that the criminal who was shot had previously been involved in several robberies and other criminal activities. Their plan to execute a major crime was thwarted by the police’s vigilance.
Following the encounter, the injured criminal was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police recovered weapons from the scene and are currently interrogating both suspects. Initial investigations are underway to determine if the criminals are linked to a larger gang and to uncover any previous crimes they may have committed.
